Yes, of course

I noticed that that none of the images are showing. Not evening on the admin. But all the files are on the server and the admin is showing broken files. The CSS is not picking up either, but it shows that it is…. IDK… i’m really confused.

First, I would try to manually install WordPress again.

Also, you might want to reach out to your host, HostGator. It looks like their servers can’t access your style.css file, I got a 403 error.

Based on that error, you could try to update the file permissions for the wp-content folder.

I checked the permissions and they are all set to the correct permissions. ?? I got the 403 error too. I will reinstall WP and see if it helps. I think the wordpress that was used to build this custom webpage was an older version… would the files from the older version conflict with the most recent WP update?

When you updated WordPress all of the core files should have been updated to the latest version. But there could be conflicts with your theme and/or plugins and the latest version of WordPress. You could update with a previous version to see if that resolves the issue.
