I just delete a photo from a page of content. The entire content of the page disappeared and was replaced with the word “undefined”. I deleted that word and wrote “under construction”, since I now have a blank page that I have to rewrite. When I clicked update to save “under construction” , it reverted to “undefined” again. Does anyone have a solution?
    The site is https://grumpyspokanespray.com/noxious-weed-control/

    Thanks Jean

Well, at least we know it’s not that plugin! Sorry others are having this problem but glad I’m not the only one!

Can it be a bigger problem with wordpress?

@jeanbledsoe: Did you try my suggestion to turn off all plugins?

@everyone else: you really aren’t helping here by simply posting “Me too!”.

I believe its a bigger problem. Opened another wp site’s backend with different plugins and theme, same problem.

New install with a new database.
Same issue occurred when clicking “Save Draft” on my post. Text was replaced with “undefined”

Tried doing the same in Internet Explorer 9 (I was originally using Google Chrome) and the issue did not occur.

Seems to be dependent on what browser you’re using.

To the others having the issues (and I hate saying this) try the same in IE and report back. Also, please tell us what browser you were using when you originally encountered the issue.

Changed it as soon as I had that brain melt down!

    Thank You exp-626

    I used also Chrome

    Safari: It works
    Firefox: it works

I am also having this issue. It has happened on two different computers, on two different networks and on two separate sites that I manage. I tried to update each site in each location. Of course, this is not something that is visible on the site.

This needs to get fixed stat. Both of these sites are for businesses.

Just got all plugins deactivated. “undefined” sits proudly in its spot.

mwgerard, have you tried a different browser?

Yes, I have tried browsers. Also each site has different servers.

I’m about ready to try jumping on one foot while saying the alphabet backwards… maybe that will work…

The Problem with Chrome was an Chrome extension called Grammarly Lite-Smart Spellchecker. Deactivate it and WordPress should function correctly again with Chrome

Thank you creepchords. Though I hate to lose grammarly, that worked.

Just a PS…uninstalling Grammarly took care of the problem in wordpress, but then it appeared in gmail replies! Solution: don’t forget to close & restart Chrome after you uninstall Grammarly.
