Page content with shortcode shown on another page

This plugin does not work when the shortcode is placed on a page that is display via a shortcode onto another page. The wrapper div is generated but it’s empty.

Here’s my example.

I placed the sidebar shortcode onto Page 1.
[sidebar name=”sidebar 1″]

I’m then using the Insert Pages plugin, to insert the content from Page 1 into Page 2 via their shortcode:
[insert page=”colonoscopy” display=”content”]

To complicate it further, I’m using the Display Widgets plugin to show a widget only on a specific page (Page 1).

If I browse to Page 1 directly, I see the sidebar inserted fine. If I browse to Page 2, I only get an empty DIV.

It seems like it’s a pretty common setup to have shortcodes including other shortcodes. The only shortcode that isn’t working properly in this setup is yours.

I’m moving onto find another plugin of this type that will work in this scenario, but I thought you might want to know.
