• Hi forum. Sometime during WordPress version 4.3.1, the words “page contents” appeared at the top of my side bar and I want to remove it. In the Appearance-Customize-Site Identity, I have not entered this into any of the fields as data that I want to be displayed. In the view of my website in Site Identity, my logo is where it should be, but there is a gray bar at the top of the page that says “page contents” and when mouse changes from an arrow to a text cursor when I float over it but it is not editable.

    I’m looking for “page contents” in the html, but can’t find it. So far I’ve looked in the Theme Header, Theme Footer and Page Template. It seems like it would just need to be removed from html. Anyone? Anyone?

    Hi,

    Please share your site url with us, so we can check it ??

    It was my first site, I want to give it a serious makeover.

    A couple more things-

    If I right click and inspect element in my browser, I can find page contents and erase it and it disappears. I wish I could send a screen shot but here’s what the code looks like around “page contents”

    <meta name=”msvalidate.01″ content=”9C8DD70C15BAB85D6F14684CF59782F5″>
    <title>Your SEO optimized title</title>
    page contents
    <style type=”text/css”>img#wpstats{display:none}</style>

    But I cannot locate this in the editor. In fact, there’s no sidebar link in the editor at all.

    Also, when I look at my site on my browser, only the page contents is the problem, but when I view it in a private window, the photo grid is all wrong, it displays in one single long line. Wp Supercache has been cleared and activated.

    Thank you Bensita, btw, for responding : )

    Well, is not clear where that “page contents” come frome.

    You can try a couple of things to try detect what is causing it:

    1. Change to another theme. Just switch the theme and check if the words are still there.

    2. Deactivate all your plugins and check if the sentence is gone. If so, activate one by one, always checking after each activation if the sentence appear again.

    Let me know if that helps!
