hello, Is there a way do designate the page after the pop up is closed?

I’ve set the pop up to display when a button is clicked. when the pop up is closed, it redirects to the home page and not the page the button was on.
Is there a way to simply close the pop up and have page remain??

    Thanks!

  • Dear @toby11,

Could you, please, share a link with your popup so we can check the issue live?

Then click on the “Sales” Case study button.
The pop up comes up but then redirects to home page.
I’d like it to stay on the above link when the pop up is closed…

    Thank you!

    Dear @toby11,

We can’t access your link: https://prnt.sc/pwbng1
Could you, please, share a screenshot of your popup settings so we can check what’s wrong?

    Dear @toby11,

    Thank you for the screenshots!
Can you, please, share a link with your popup so we can check it live?

Also, I noticed that you have set the popup On load.
And, you haven’t selected the pages for your popup, via the Display rules setting: https://prnt.sc/pwruqh

Please, select the pages and let me know if you want to show your popup automatically or after a button click.

The site currently has a maintenance page up so you will have to log in as me.

Is there a private email I can send the credentials to please?

    Thank you!

There is not and if the author accepts that, they risk getting banned from these forums and having their plugin removed.

@sygnoossupport I’ve archived your reply. Do not accept login credentials, do not use Teamviewer, do not log in or access a user’s site. keep support for users here in these forums.

There are many ways to get information you need and accessing the user’s site is not one of them. That’s going too far.

    You get the idea.

Volunteer support is not easy. But these forums need to a safe place for all users, experienced or new. Accessing their system that way is a short cut that will get you into real trouble in these forums.

Ok- It’s been a week with back and fourth on what seems like a simple question to you…

Is it possible to set up a pop up from a button??

If so what are the settings/procedure?

Can you just give me this please?

    Dear @jdembowski,

    Thank you for your notes!
We are aware of the rules of not asking users to contact us.
We tried to help the user in detail and asked for a link to see the settings live.
But as you can see, the user says the site is in maintenance so we can’t check it either.
The user asked about a support email and we told him about our Live chat.

I do understand that we shouldn’t ask for admin access from the users in the forum, and we never do that.
We do acknowledge the risks of sharing admin access publicly, and as you can see, we never ask for it in the forum.
We just want to help our users and not go against your community rules.

    Dear @toby11,

We do understand that this is taking longer than expected and we really do our best to help you asap.
Please, check the steps for adding a click popup on a button via CSS class, here: Open On click /On hover/On load Popup via CSS class

@sygnoossupport You are really not getting it. Do not ask for admin anywhere, on your site, this site, via email, etc. Do not think that walking around that rule outside of the forums is allowed. It’s not. That does get found and you risk losing your plugin on this site if you keep that up.

These are not your customers. You do not have a single customer in this site. These are users only. Do not treat them as if they are customers, the relationship is completely different.

If someone is a customer then let the moderators know. Those topic will be closed and all replies will be archived.

If this remains unclear to you, ask for clarification in the #forums WordPress Slack channel. Any moderator can explain it to you again.

    Hey @jdembowski,

    Everything is clear.

    When my colleague Ani said

We do acknowledge the risks of sharing admin access publicly, and as you can see, we never ask for it in the forum.

she wanted to highlight the context of this thread and that’s why mentioned the community forum. We don’t ask for admin but we are using the tools you have mentioned which helps us to understand/debug the problem if there is any.

In case of any questions regarding forum rules, I’ll contact moderators via the slack channel.

    Thanks.

@toby11 please let me know if your issue resolved. Otherwise, I’ll be happy to provide you with more details.

    Thanks!

@sygnoos The words you may have wanted to use are these. Just as an example.

We get it. These are not our customers and we fully understand that there will be real consequences if we ask for admin on this site, on our site, on email, using any tools that we may have. No one from @sygnoos or @sygnoossupport will ask for admin from an WordPress user using any medium for as long as the sun shall shine.

And any customer will be directed to our own site and not here as we fully understand that no one can support customers in these forums.

While I’m inserting some humor, take this seriously. This is not for a debate and if you log onto user’s site it will be determined and there will be consequences.

If you need to contact the moderators about this then you can do so via the Slack #forums channel. Do not DM me or any moderator about this, use the channel.

To use that channel you need a Slack account. You can obtain one via these instructions.

    https://make.www.ads-software.com/chat/

If that is too far a step then contact the plugins team via their email address.

Yea everything is clear. Thank you @jdembowski for your support.

Yes- Understood- But to all- I think this is really been blown way out of proportion. I just want to know how to make a button pop up an image or a pdf and then once closed, remain on the button page.

    Can we do this??????
