I’ve recently updated wordpress to the 4.9.8 from 4.7.6 (I know, I know) and now I have no page editing options under the HTML Section. I’m using wordpress as the backdoor to my website and cant seem to find a solution anywhere to help resolve my issue. I’ve deactivated and updated all of my plugins, restored older files and databases, and made sure the box isn’t checked in my user profile for ‘Disable the visual editor when writing.’

I’m not a website guru just need someone to point me in a direction I haven’t tried yet. I’m running Kayllas Theme (Theme Forest) v3.6 if that means anything.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.

If you can install plugins, install “Health Check”: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/health-check/ On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site.

So under troubleshooting mode in Health Check, Page options and editing below the HTML block are still missing. I wish I could Post a screen shot so you could see what it exactly looks like. I feel like some type of code was corrupted when I updated and can’t revert to get my editing abilities back.

I’ve tried using Elementor to edit but it’s also not working properly.

Troubleshooting with your browser: Your browser can help you identify JavaScript issues or conflicts and this article can assist you in doing that diagnosis. This could help identify Visual Editor issues as well.

Step 3 of the article followed the instructions and this shows up

Uncaught TypeError: jQuery(…).datepicker is not a function zn-admin-scripts.JS:225
    at HTMLDocument.<anonymous> (zn-admin-scripts.js:225)
    at i (jquery.js:2)
    at Object.fireWith [as resolveWith] (jquery.js:2)
    at Function.ready (jquery.js:2)
    at HTMLDocument.K (jquery.js:2)

    What…? HELP

I’m also reading this thread which seems to be really close to my symptons yet I’m not quiet sure on how to edit the code in the ways they’re talking about

    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/visual-editor-not-showing-7/

I’m using Godaddy for hosting, I have back ups, and I have access to my cPanel it’s just confusing for me to find these lines of codes and make the changes when I have no idea what I’m doing.

FWIW Thanks for all this help too I’m still experiencing issues.

JS error suggests likely an incomplete update.

If Auto Updates Works on your site, visit Dashboard → Updates and click “Update Now.”

If not, try MANUALLY updating. Download WordPress again and unzip it. Access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel (consult your hosting provider’s documentation for specifics on these), and delete then replace your copies of everything on the server except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download. This will effectively replace all of your core files without damaging your content and settings. Please read the Manual Update directions first.

Backup: If you haven’t already done, always backup everything (including your database) before doing any actions, just in case something really goes wrong. You can never have enough backups!

That’s the thing and I think part of my issue. Somewhere along the way I feel like I lost those files because I cant even find the WP-Config or Content files. Even if I restore previous backups.

    Hmmm

Re-installed wordpress and restored the site, still no avail to my issue. Same no editing features and JS error code.
