Page goes blank when 1 line is added

    Situation:
    I was editing an existing page (not a post) on my site. I added one line to the page and saved it. The page went from 2814 words to zero (and the revision history disappeared.) I have reproduced the problem on a test page repeatedly (although I have not lost the revision history again). A colleague has logged in from a different computer and been able to reproduce the problem — but he doesn’t have this problem pasting the same HTML into a fresh page on a different WP 2.8 site. My web host (dotable) says they’re current with all WP and PHP code.

    There seems to be some threshold (# of lines? page size? # of links?) beyond which the page can’t be saved. But the fact that my colleague can use the same HTML on another site suggests that the limit must be site-wide, not on this one page.

    I have tried disabling all plug-ins. Same result. I have set my PHP config to use PHP 5. Same result. I’ve tried using different editors. Same result. I’ve tried editing in the visual editor and the HTML editor. Same result.

  • Have you tried:

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems?

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    Dear esmi,

    I did try switching themes. I hadn’t tried resetting the plugins folder. However, my web host seems to have found the problem. They disabled suhosin on my account and the problem instantly vanished.
