Please share the URL of the landing page you’ve created, The landing page plugin use custom templates so If your theme is already using custom template and used it for some default theme template the plugin might not work despite of the permalinks.

I have the Landing Page template chosen, and the permalinks are set to “plain”.

Set the permalinks to post name and publish the landing page it is currently draft.

I did both as you suggest, and no change.

Yes, The theme is already using the custom template, Rending the plugin useless, I am sorry but the only way to make this plugin work would be to switch the theme.

I will recommend you to use beaver builder plugin it might fulfil your requirements.
