• Hi there, my online portfolio?https://www.jessoneill.com?no longer working.?

When you go to my domain & click on a portfolio category, for example the first one which is NYX Costmetics?Coachella?https://jessoneill.com/pile_portfolio/nyx-x-coachella/?it should take you to the page where you see my work, but instead it’s just a blank page with nothing on it. However when I click the refresh button, it shows up. I have to do this for every page.

I installed the health plugin which told me my site’s health is “good”. I also tried downgrading the wordpress version and this also did not help.

I used pixelgrade for my sites theme however If i want to extend their support period im going to have to pay $225 which i dont have.

Any help would be appreciated – thank you!

  • The problem is with the theme you’re using. I see several JQuery-related errors in the browser console, including calls to the AddThis social bookmarking service which has shut down business!

You’re using version 2.2.3 of the theme which was released in 2017 and was tested to be compatible with WordPress 4.9.2. Since then, there have been several major WordPress releases and corresponding releases of your theme to maintain compatibility with WordPress.

WordPress 5.0 & 5.5, in particular, were very big updates that broke a lot of themes and plugins: you’re on 6.3.2, but still using a version of your theme that was only tested to work with 4.9.2.

    I hear your cries.

Unfortunately, as this is a commercial theme you purchased, there’s not a whole lot we can do here to help you here… because we don’t have access to the theme’s code at all.

    Your not-so-appealing options are:

    1) Re-build your site with another theme (ideally a free or lower-priced one), OR
    2) Pay your current theme vendor’s subscription fee (now and forever) and continue to use their product.

    Good luck!

    Hi George,

Thanks for your response, I appreciate it.

    I reached out to pixelgrade, & this is what they said;

“Based on what I’ve found and the details you’ve shared, it appears the update to WordPress 6.3 is causing compatibility issues with our theme.

Currently, our demo runs on WordPress 6.0, but we support up to version 6.2. You can read more about the theme’s requirements here.

As a potential solution, I recommend rolling back your WordPress to version 6.2 to see if this resolves the connectivity and display problems. You can use the Core Rollback plugin to help you do this safely:?https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/core-rollback/?To prevent future core updates, you can use the?Disable Automatic Updates?plugin.”

So I downloaded the Core Rollback plugin like he suggested & it’s still not changing?my sites version – when I select an earlier release & click “Rollback”, it takes me to another page (2nd screenshot, which is telling me what the current version of my site is still – 6.3.2.) Am i doing something wrong – should I reach out to Core Rollback?

I noticed the messaging in the first screenshot, “INFO:?Depending upon your current PHP version, some versions of WordPress core will not be available for rollback.” – Im assuming?this is why it’s not working???

I also tried the WP Downgrade plugin (https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-downgrade/#installation) & after i entered the downgrade version desired it still did not change it (please see first screenshot)

And when I click the “Update Core” link in the yellow box at the bottom of the page it takes me the second screenshot.

I feel like i am going around in circles – this has become so involved, & I feel like I am in way over my head & have no idea what I am doing.. Do you happen to have any other suggestions?? It sucks because I need to show my work to potential clients & i just finally got my site in to a good place. I really don’t want to have to re build it after finally getting it in to a good place ??
