Hello: Does anyone know why my site keeps updating in CHROME? Is there a way to turn it off?

I don’t know why this happens in your case but here is an article that describes the matter and has good info:

Have you tried deactivating your plugins? Also, including more info in your post would help people help you –

The only issue that makes a huge difference is the Amazon ad in my footer. That keeps refreshing….I have contacted Amazon and waiting for an answer. As for CHROME from the research I have done it seems like that is something this and many other browsers do.

Does anyone know how to turn this feature off in CHROME??

I have Googled it….and most people are saying that is how it is. Apparently there is a plugin that does not work. If it is not happening you your computer….and it doesn’t happen on my husbands either….it is because my site it hooked up to WP? My computer is hooked to WP…so could that have anything to do with it. Safari won’t even load my page properly.

Could be because you are logged in to the site. Have you tried logging out? And clearing your cache and cookies and restarting your computer?

But yes, if there is a script (or other) error on the site – it will often keep trying to load.

I am always logged in on this computer. It doesn’t seem to do it on my phone. How do I know if there are errors on the site? I have cleared the cache many times….in fact I just got a new computer.

Thanks….does show errors…but I don’t know how to fix them? I tried to take a screen shot for you but didn’t work. Would you like me to try again?

The errors probably reference plugins? Generally, deactivating your plugins and then reactivating one-by-one may be the best way to identify what’s causing problems.
