page links

  • I have coldstone template for https://www.vishwakonkani.org. Want to edit pages for links on top navigation bar: about us, archives, contact us. also want to add some links. Created a contact page separately, but want it to appear when I click on “contact us” on top navigation bar. Don’t want the link in the sidebar. Thanks.

    Also, whatever posts I make appear both in ‘Articles’ as well as ‘Pages’ in sidebar.

  • Is the page menu hard coded? It seems to be. If so, you’ll have to manually edit it.

    new to wp. no idea. where can i find the code? I checked all php files that came with it. like have been manually changing code of sidebar, etc. thanks.

    It seems like it would be in the header.php of your theme.

    Try to configure it in Admin <settings <reading, and choose the static page.
    If it doesn’t work this video might help.

    Admin <settings <reading has nothing to do with it. The question was not about changing what appears on the home page. It was about how to make the Contact link point to a different page.

    BTW I did not address the second question but it seems like it must have something to do w/ the way your sidebar is coded. You do have Page links showing under both your Articles and Pages subheaders.

    thanks SS_Minnow. It is header.php alright. don’t know how I missed this one, though I seemed to have checked all the files!
