    Hey Sybre,

Strange issue here that we can not run down. For some reason the mentioned page is being submitted with our sitemap but is listed as no index in the meta.

Google console brought this to our attention.

    <meta name=”robots” content=”noydir” /

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi there ??

We noticed this earlier, too, on our site.

This is because WooCommerce forces the robots meta tag on the my-account page, which is something I haven’t figured out yet on how to disable.

Note that The SEO Framework will only listen to its own meta tags. This means that the “noindex” tag emitted by WooCommerce isn’t taken into account when generating the sitemap.

A workaround would be to apply “noindex” to the page via The SEO Framework, too.

The robots meta tag is treated as an array by crawlers; so, you can have multiple (even duplicated) robots meta tags without facing issues. The most restrictive tag will be used.

Until we figure out how, there’s no way to get WooCommerce’s my-account page–and its subpages–indexed.

That is what we came up with also. We were just not aware of why the page would be on the sitemap but listed as noindex. Thanks for the help. We will set it as no index in the Framework.

In case you are interested we also have observed some strange behavior regarding the WooCommerce product pages. When we had our HTML site we embedded videos in the individual product pages and google picked up the videos. All of them.

We have embedded the videos in our WooCommerce product pages and google will not even list the videos. It does list the products pages though.

Do you have any idea why this would be?

    Hello again ??

The product pages’ main purpose is listing (and selling) the product. Google can’t list a page both as a video and as a product page.

Aside from this, I recommend using YouTube instead of Vimeo; it tends to receive much higher exposure in search (antitrust… oops), which might help the videos being displayed more prominently.

On the HTML site the product page would list for the product search and the video search.
Maybe a little bit of a downside to wordpress. But there have been many upsides. The site is ranking very well overall.

We went with YouTube first. Unfortunately they viewed some of our videos as commercials and we had to move over to Vimeo. You might notice a lot of businesses have started to move to Vimeo. The rankings for the Vimeo videos are actually not bad and the embedded ones in the blog are doing quite well.

    Thanks again for the help!
