    hi,

We’ve just launched our site but are experiencing very high page load times. When we scanned our site with the p3 profiler, it showed the the plugin “contextual related posts” and “wp security” took pretty long to load.
Do these plugins slow down the site?

    Any help will be appreciated.

  • I ran a webpage test on your site:

    https://www.webpagetest.org/result/121005_3G_JVA/1/details/

It looks like your TTFB (time to first byte) is okay. WPT marks this as “F” but your PHP is rendering and downloading quicker than other files on your site (CSS, image files).

What part of your site is loading slowly?

    Hi Kurt,

Thanks for the response. The site takes around 5 seconds to load. Its not the target we are trying to hit. need it to open under a sec or so.

Haven’t really been able to figure out what’s causing the delay in load.
The number of sql queries is also large. And we cant figure out how to control it. Also the Java scripts and css provided by the theme are not gettin G-zipped nor are they getting cached effectively i guess.
Would appreciate any specific help addressing the our issues that can reduce our page load times.

    hi,

I was working n CSS sprites.
I used SpriteMe to generate the sprite images for the home page.
However it’s not exporting the CSS code.
and I’m confused what to change in my css code.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

one issue that we are pondering over, is :

The g zip works well on a shared server at go daddy

but doesnt work on a VPS.

I recommend contacting Go Daddy’s tech support. They can help you determine which type of server you have (plesk, cpanel, etc.) and help you edit the right config files or find the right option.
