Page Load Time Optimization and problems with SSL

Hello and thank you for your great work on QTranslate-X,

I’m contacting you today because of a problem I’m facing, which regards my main page loading time. I notice the Time to first Byte is quite long when testing on Pingdom or other services.

I actually have multiple redirections:

from https://mydomain.com to https://mydomain.com/en which takes about 3 seconds

then from https://mydomain.com/en to https://mydomain.com/en which takes about 5 more seconds

How could I reduce the number and time of redirections for the page loading time to be faster?
