• Hello everyone, I am new to WordPress so this may be a very easy question to answer. Basically, I purchased a theme called “Ourea”. It’s a great theme, but I can’t seem to get the page I want on my raw url (johnkorhel.com). I have about 28 pages from the theme, but I cannot set them to the main url. For example, I am working on an about section, and the url is johnkorhel.com/about-2. I cannot delete that root on it, no matter how hard I try it always comes back. On the main page (johnkorhel.com) there is some random page from the theme. So basically all I want to do is take the template off of the about, and put it on the main page, which I can’t even find under pages btw. Thanks.

  • To set a particular page as your home page (rather than using the blog index or whatever front page template your theme has), go to Settings | Reading and choose “Static Page” under “Front Page Displays.” Then select the page you want as the front page and the page you want as the blog index.

If you can’t rename the slug of your about page from /about-2/ to /about/, it means there is another page with the slug /about/. (WordPress doesn’t allow any two items to have the same slug.) It might be in the trash, in which case you will have to empty the trash. Once you’ve deleted whatever the other /about/ item is, you can change the slug on your /about-2/ page to /about/.
