• Hello,

I created a post type with an own slug path “/publications/magazine/”.
This path corresponds to pages I created before. The navigation reflects the current page when accessing “Publications” and “Magazine”.
As soon I access a specific magazine (based on post type) the navigation does not reflect where I am, as the detail is a post.
How can I define a post type to be a child of a specific page as I can do that with pages?

    Thanks!
    Aldo

  • If you make your created post type ‘hierarchical’, then it will behave as a Page.

Unfortunately in the main navigation (created with wp_nav_menu) the parent page is still not highlighted or set with the class “current_page_parent” or “current_page_ancestor”.

So accessing i.e. “/publications/magazine/issue-1”, does not highlight the menu entry “Publications” in the main navigation or “Magazine” in the subnavigation.

    Any other idea?
