I’m using Postie 1.4.15 and this doesn’t appear to be a Postie problem but maybe you can help with a solution to the possible WordPress issue with a Postie update (?). I’m having an issue where if a person posts a message with the subject(title) for example 1/1/13, WordPress creates a post with the url /1113 which is fine. But when I click on the link in the email, it goes to that location and can’t find the post. If I then resave the post URL to say 1_1_13 then everything works fine. If I change the URL back to /1113 WordPress doesn’t find it. Is there a way to make the character “/” come in as a hyphen or something instead of being dropped? I have no idea why a number like this returns a 404.

    Thanks.

I’m assuming you have your permalinks set up as /%postname%/

If I create a post in the standard UI I see the same issue you are.

Unfortunately I can’t do anything in Postie as the slug is generated by the core code.

A lot of poking around lead me to this WordPress bug: https://core.trac.www.ads-software.com/ticket/5305

Unfortunately the “Allow Numeric Stubs” plugin referenced doesn’t seem to work with WP 3.5.

I was able to get eveything working by changing the permalink structure to: /%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%/
