    Hello,
I’m having a strange problem that maybe someone can help me with. After site migrations from Development Server. When I go into the NextGen Gallery Other Options page and I try to change some settings (Advanced Settings under Lightbox Effects), when I click the save button it goes to “page not found” and doesn’t save the changes. Even though the URL is exactly the same as the options page I was just on.
/wp-admin/admin.php?page=ngg_other_options. This happens even if I don’t change anything and hit save.

    What I have tried:
    1. Changing themes
    2. Finding where these advanced settings are saved (database?) to manually change them.
    3. Checking write permissions on nextgen related folders (haven’t found any issue)
    4. Deactivate/Delete Plugin and Reinstall.
    5. Resaved permalinks

Any idea? Or can someone tell me where NextGen Gallery saves those advanced settings for Lighbox Effects/Fancybox/ CSS & Javascript (so I can manually alter those URLs).

Everything still works fine on my development server. And the migration is to the same server setup (same host).

    Thanks for any help.

  • Check your general setting and your path for NextGen in other options.

I had some trouble with files and realized the default location for NextGen is the same as the generic/default galleries. So I created a /nextgengallery for location of files.

Also, try going to your default or post-name permalink setting

    Thanks for the feedback muddauber.
But, no joy on trying all those suggestions.

Actually, I can’t change the path on NextGen Other Options, because it won’t save. When hitting save I get Page Not Found.

If I change permalink to Default (from post-name). Instead of the page not found, I get a Forbidden error “You don’t have permission to access /wp-admin/admin.php on this server.” . Then changing it back to post-name I get the page not found again.

Everything else on the plugin and everything else is on the site is working fine. Just have to change the URLs under advanced settings under Lightbox effects to complete the migration. Wicked strange, never had this problem before.

    Thanks for any other help.

    I figured out the issue.
I had to delete the css and js field entries in the advanced settings under lightbox effects (each lightbox option). Then save. Then re-enter the fields and save again. Once I deleted them it started saving the setting correctly.

The error was having an absolute path in those fields.
I deleted the https://www.domain.com and just went with /wp-content/…

    Hope this helps someone else.

After migrating the site using Duplicator I had the same problem and resolved it easily.
    Go to:
    Gallery
    Other Options
    Reset Options
“Reset all options to default setting”
all was corrected and the gallery works as it should.
