• Hello,

I replaced the CSS, JS and IMAGE folders on my webspace with the ones from the google pagespeed insights analytic tool. Now my backend of wordpress isn’t working anymore? Is there any possibility to restore the data?

    Kind Regards
    Chris

  • Did you replace the files of the theme or the wordpress core?
css, js and image files of the theme (those are the ones who are modified by pagespeed) should not affect the backend.
    The frontend still working?
If you replaced wordpress core files, download them again from www.ads-software.com and reupload them.
If you replaced the theme files. delete the theme on the server and reupload it.

I replaced the files under wp-includes.

the frontend isn’t working completely, the menu dropdowns don’t show up anymore

    Ok.
Delete first the wp-includes folder completely.
Then download wordpress from www.ads-software.com, unzip it and reupload the complete wp-includes folder.

    Remember:
The files inside the wp-includes folder are wordpress core files. You never have to delete or modify those files. (Except you are a WordPress Core developer).

The files Google Paespeed told you to replace are probably from your theme or a plugin.
