I think you might have a bug in PHP code where you forgot to check whether or not Allow trackbacks and pingbacks on this page. is checked.
What I have so far on my site is that Pingback are shown irrespectively. Not a deal breaker but certainly an inconvenience.

    p.s. theme version 1.6.4

  • @davydov-denis do you mean that your page is receiving pingbacks even though you have the box for that unchecked, or just that the pingback URL is appearing in the document head?

correct, the page shows pingbacks at the bottom even though I have the box unchecked.

@davydov-denis are these pingbacks that were added before you unchecked the “allow” box? That box only prevents new pingbacks from being submitted. You’ll have to delete pre-existing ones if you don’t want them to appear.

Make uses standard WordPress functionality to handle comments/pingbacks, so I suspect that this isn’t due to anything in the theme code.

i see… then it must have been my previous theme which was not “correct” and did not show those pingbacks when they happened initially.

Thanks a lot for clarification and you help!
