I cannot add blocks. Where the icons should be I can empty boxes.
I have no plugins. This is a fresh install.
It’s looked this way with any of the themes.

    Any ideas would be awesome!

Do you have any system-wide tracker blocker? Some anti-virus apps do that.

Nope, no system wide tracker blocker. I’ve also tried logging in on my Mac, my PC, and my husband’s PC with various browsers. Same everywhere. Missing icons. It looks a little different on each browser Chrome- empty boxes, Microsoft Edge just blank, Firefox a little boxes with gibberish inside. I’ve also tried private & incognito browsers.
Oh, then I thought to try logging in on my iPad, since there definitely is not virus software on that, and same thing. Although it looks interesting: Maybe this is helpful:

Check this above page link, I have also faced the same problem now it’s working fine for me

Note: after you change open in an incognito browser and check it’s working perfectly

    Excellent, thanks for sharing that!

OMG!! THANK YOU!! I thought I had read that somewhere and tried it and it didn’t work.
    But it did work.
I toggled OFF the “external links rewrite” and left the “HTTPS Enforce” ON. Now I can see the icons. What was the purpose of that “external links rewrite” anyway? Is it important? Some of the posters mentioned that they installed something else to make up for it? Is that necessary? My site says it’s secure? (Sorry for my ignorance here.)

@macmanx Thank you so much for your help! You can’t possibly know how all the different hosting sites will interact with (or break) WordPress. But now you know this tip for the next SiteGround person!
