    Did you select “Capability Type” = Page? That only sets permissions. A user that can do something on pages can do that same action on the custom post type.

    I understand what you want to achieve. I will see what we can do. When we get it in you definitely need to activate “Supports” = “Page Attributes”.

    The 1.0 is coming soon and I hope we get this in.
