Page Publishing Problem

Page seems to publish fine. Do another page and publish. Go to main pages in dashboard. The new pages are not showing or if one shows the other does not. This happened after the most recent updates and I’ve tested on 2 different websites. I also tested with a fresh manual install of 4.4.1. I had avoided upgrading to the former due to many plugins giving a not working or not ready message. But these are brand new installs with no plugins yet, so its not a plug in issue.
