• When clicking a link (post or calendar date) I am redirected back to the main page. For example clicking on the title of post 86 (thecoolkids/coffee/?p=86) sends me back to the main page. However if I type in thecoolkids.us/coffee/index.php?p=86 I get post 86’s page.

Thank you in advance for any help. I tried searching the support site, but was not sure how to word this question.

You really need the “index.php” in your URL’s otherwise WP thinks you are searching. It looks like all of your links related to the categories are accurate while the others are missing the “index.php” piece.

If you can, try enabling permalinks and see what sort of an outcome you get.

Thanks for the prompt reply and explanation. The permalinks thing did the trick. I really do appreciate the WP community.

Glad to hear it worked out. Though I’m curious as to why the “index.php” piece was missing from some of your links previously.

    Curious…

    Regards

Now I’ve upgraded WP, I’m having this problem – it was fine before (www.free-from.com/blog). If I click on an archive link or on a category link, I just get the home page presented again.

I did have permalinks enabled before, though I notice that most recent posts have the default names – so I guess it wasn’t working.

I have tried changing the permissions on .htaccess and resetting the permalinks, but without any joy – same problem. I don’t understand the .htaccess file, but it says: RewriteRule . /blog/index.php [L] Is this right?

Any ideas about what might have gone wrong? I’m stumped. Another blog I’ve just started seems to be working fine, and I haven’t done anything differently I don’t think.
