    Hi, I think I’ve encountered a bug.

I’ve placed a restriction on a page. I’ve set the content to be accessible only by logged in users with the roles of Administrator, Editor, Author, Contributor, or Subscriber.

This restriction works for me: I can’t see the content when logged out, but when logged in as Admin, I can see the content.
However, logged in Subscribers cannot see the content.

Subscribers to the website have started complaining only very recently, so I think the last WordPress upgrade might have had something to do with this, but I’m not sure.

Is anyone else experiencing the same problem?

  • Hi there,

I have the same exact problem but i have not updated wordpress for almost a year at least… did you find some answer to this problem? thank you for your time. Maybe it is something very specific with the plug-in.

    Hi Pablo.

As far as I know, the bug is still there. =(

Initially, I had a page displaying the results of a poll, and my intent was that all logged in users could see them. As I started to get complaints from Subscribers that they were not able to see the results of the poll even when logged in, I ran some tests and found that only Subscribers were affected.
Since only a few of my Subscribers were required to be able to see the results of the poll, I assigned them the role of Editor, and they were able to access the results of the poll.

So I didn’t really solve the bug, but rather circumvented it.

    Hi there again,

Yeah, i was thinking to give new users contributor permissions, which can be detected by Content Control restriction previously setup instance and additionally use Adminizer plug-in to hide some features but i really hate the extra hassle it brings, no way i am gonna give them Editor status though.

I found out I had already rated it five stars! ??

    Hello.
It doesnt work when I make a restriction for multiple pages in one field.
When I press to update the rule, then check it – and that field with specified pages is empty (in Content section).
    And one more.
How can I rectrict access for all pages except one. If I create 2 rules (1st to restrict an access for all pages for not logged in users, and 2nd to give access for guests for 1 page), it doesnt work. Even if I change the order of them.
    Any suggestion?
