When I run tests on WebPageTest, Google, or Pingdom, the results keep showing that I am not leveraging browser caching. I am particularly interested in caching media. I have the expiration header set for one year, cache control header checked, and the entity tag checked.

Have I missed something in the configuration?

Check your .htaccess file to make sure the media expirations are there. That will tell you for sure. Look for # BEGIN W3TC Browser Cache and the subsequent header sets

I have the same issue. Thanks, Kimberly. Please bear with me, my code knowledge is limited at best. For whatever reason, I have an .htaccess file at the webhost root level and another at the WordPress installation. W3TC is writing to the one at root level. I do not see the expiry parameters there.

Is something preventing those expiry settings from being saved? Also, do the “General” settings override the ones for different content types?
