Page text in the editor is invisible

    I have a problem when I log into wordpress and look at my page text in the editor box. The box appears blank and there is no functionality for the buttons above. The text is there however because the page produces on line okay and if you highlight the box the text appears out of the blue highlight created. This is particularly frustrating as I am effectively unable to make any amendments to the pages. The blogs appear fine and function normally.
    Anyone have any advice on how to proceed please?
