  • Have a look at the FAQ and adjust your template if needed. Most likely that’s the cause of your problem.

Will do … but I haven’t adjusted my template at all recently and this behavior just started with my latest blog post. All that’s changed recently is updating the WordPress SEO plugin and deactivating the SEO Title Tag plugin. Could one of those actions be the culprit?

I also updated to the latest vbersion of WOrdPress between my last blog post with a good title tag and the new blog post with an incorrect title tag. Was there anything in that update that could have been a factor in this?

Too little information for me to really analyse this, but deactivating the SEO Title Tag plugin would explain why this behaviour only just started to show now.
Are you using one of the WP templates (twentyten, twentyeleven, twentytwelve) ? or a proprietary template ? Does it comply with what it says in the FAQ ?

    The FAQ suggests:
enable “Force rewrite titles” on the SEO -> Titles settings page

How do I do that? I don’t find that as an option anywhere.

It’s the first option on the ‘General’ tab of the SEO-> Titles and Meta page.

Thanks — I stumbled around and never quite stumbled across that. This was the answer. Cleaned it up perfectly. Thank you JRF!

You’re welcome. Could you please mark the topic as resolved ?
