    Hi,

So I’ve got a portfolio template (orvis) setup but here is the issue I have.

I want the homepage to still use the ‘portfolio’ style with images displayed in a tiled configuration. However, when clicking on the images to go that project, I want it to be a normal ‘page’ not a portfolio type page so that normal formatting can be done. Orvis forces a left hand text on portfolio pages..

What would be the best way to do this? I tried plugins but then the projects stop appearing on the homepage because they aren’t read as a ‘portfolio project’.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi there,

Orivis is hard-coded so that the homepage layout is created by content you add to your portfolio. There is not really a way around this using a plugin, but you would normally need to hire a WordPress developer who is comfortable with modifying the behavior of the homepage template in the theme’s PHP files.

The other option is to modify the project page template to give it more normal styling (such as you see on standard pages) but this will also require hiring someone who is comfortable editing the theme PHP.

    Hi thanks for your reply.
I see as a workaround I have currently done the following (for any future readers of this forum post):

    1) Set the Orvis homepage style to a normal template (not portfolio)
    2) Used FooGallery plugin to create a tiled gallery on the homepage similar to Orvis
    3) Created custom URL links to each gallery image to a page for each project.

This achieves the outcome I am looking for.
