Page View event is sent only from browser – “Facebook For WooCommerce”

This is really odd. I’d like to understand more about your setup.

Could you please send me a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.

Once you’ve done that, you can paste the text in https://gist.github.com/ and feel free to change/remove your site URL in the report for privacy reasons.

We don’t know why this is happening.
We used to send events with the “Pixel Your Site” Plugin and we didn’t had this problem.

After connecting the website with the “FB for Woo” plugin we noticed the problem.

Hi @costakeys, thanks for adding the screenshot. It is possible that some events would be sent over only from Browser vs. both Browser and Server due to something that Facebook calls “deduplication”.

If you have set up both Pixel Tracking and Conversions API events, Facebook will deduplicate them to minimize, what it calls, “redundant setup”. With the Facebook for WooCommerce plugin, the same data that flows through Conversions API and the Facebook Pixel is deduplicated based on a unique event ID, so there’s no concern about the same events being double-counted. Ok, but why all the other Events are sent from both Browser & Server?
Also the “View Content” event match quality is very low (1.3/10).
Is this normal?
When we used to send Events with “Pixel Your Site” all the Events were over 4/10.

Thanks a lot for sharing the screenshots.

I’ve tried to test on my sites and found that my Page View events are also coming from the browser only:

According to one of our developers (this was discussed 6 months before):

Currently, the “PageView” still only be sent via browser (navigator). And based on the Facebook development doc, it’s fine to send an event only from one of browser and server sides, even it can send different events separately from the browser or server according to scenario.

So, the Page View is supposed to be sent only from the browser in our extension.

I do not have the exact confirmation if that has changed in the recent versions. You can create a ticket and refer to this discussion if you want to get more details about this specific event.

I don’t see anything wrong with it. If you’re not running paid ads, just using this plugin to show your products on your Facebook page, nothing is to worry about it.

Can you please use Facebook Pixel Helper chrome addon and go to your category page and see if the event is fired?

No worries. Category pages exist on their own and not just the shop page and here are a few ways to improve them.
