Page_enhanced folders empty

    Hi there,

    We have been having lots of server issues related to a massive increase in traffic. I was under the impression the our page_enhanced caching was working, however upon investigation the folders within “wp-content/cache/page_enhanced/” only contain .htaccess files.

    I have tried deactivating and reactivating the plugin. Still not working.

    When logged in I see the following comment in the html comments:

    I have looked at the log located here: wp-content/cache/log/000000/pagecache.log

    There are several hundred instances of the following ranging from Nov 19 – Nov 25th and then nothing else.

    I am sorry about the issue you are experiencing and I am happy to assist you with this.
    As I can see your website is running on Nginx, not Apache. Have you migrated your website recently?
    Can you please double-check this?
    Because in this case the rules should be written in the nginx.conf and not in .htaccess file.

    Hi Marko,

    I’m on a siteground Cloud server. As such I do not have access to the nginx conf file.

    However, I may be able to request that SG add this info for us.

    The page cache did work previously as I have seen html files inside these folders in the past. So unsure what has changed. We used to be on a shared plan but we upgraded to the cloud plan.

    Is it worth deleting the plugin entirely and reinstalling? Will this fix the issue and make correct settings for an nginx environment?

    If you check these screenshots, you will see that your files are being handled by Nginx

    Ok I think I resolved this. For some reason the advanced-cache.php drop in was named advanced-cache.php1

    I removed the 1 from the php file and now the cache is working and _index_ssl.html files are now appearing in the folders.

    I have no idea why this file was renamed but my cache now seems to be up and running.

    Thank you for the information.
    This is indeed very weird. Possibly if you have had some other caching solution installed previously it had the same drop-in and W3 Total Cache added it’s own but with the “1” at the end of it so it’s not overwritten. Or you’ve accidentally added the “1”.
    Still, I am glad to know you’ve managed to find what was causing the issue and glad to know that the issue is resolved.
