Hi, love this plugin and use it on a lot of sites but came across a query today I’d love some help with.

The plugin doesn’t fire a page load or event in the data layer when the cookie preferences are updated.

In other cookie tools I have seen previously (e.g. OneTrust), an event is pushed when the banner click is made (called something like preferencesUpdated), which we then use to trigger a pageview if it was an accept click. Without there being an event loaded, I do not believe there is anything we can use to reload the tags and trigger a pageview tag on the actual page the click is made and the cookie value changes, meaning we are reliant on the user moving to a second page before we begin tracking them.

Tracking the page a user lands on is high priority for us – are you able to share any advice on how this can be achieved with this plugin please? Thanks

    Hi @joshbedford,

    Greetings from Webtoffee!

Sorry for the inconvenience caused. Could you please share your site URL so that we can check this from our end? Before this, please check in GDPR Cookie Consent > Settings > Advanced > Advanced Script Rendering, whether it is set to Enable or not.

Hi @webtoffee, thanks for the speedy response!

The site can be seen here and advanced script rendering is currently set to disabled – should this be enabled?

    Thanks,

    Hi @joshbedford,

Please set the ‘Advanced script rendering’ to enable and check whether tracking is working as expected.

Hi @webtoffee, we’ve set it to enable but it’s still not working as expected I’m afraid. We have ruled out a theme/plugin conflict.

Do you have any further advice on this?

    Thanks

    Hi @joshbedford,

Please check in Google Tag Manager settings whether any additional configurations are made and keep it as default.

I am having the exact same issue, but the Advanced script rendering option is missing from the Advanced tab. We are using the premium version.

Following this guide to find it:
    https://www.webtoffee.com/gdpr-cookie-consent-plugin-basic-version-user-guide/

This is what I can see in the Advanced tab:

    Advanced
Sometimes themes apply settings that clash with plugins. If that happens, try adjusting these settings.

    Renew user consent
Clicking this will renew the existing user consents on your website. The existing users will be prompted with the consent banner irrespective of their previous consent.

    Reset all values
Warning: this will actually delete your current settings.
    Delete site data from CookieYes

    Disable CookieYes branding
