  • I am having the same issue. I am trying to migrate from MAMP on a Mac to XAMPP on a PC. I have used this plugin previously with much success. I am following the same steps here, but, when I click “Save Permalinks” on the test page, I get the following 404 error:

The requested URL was not found on this server. The link on the referring page seems to be wrong or outdated. Please inform the author of that page about the error.

If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster.

When I click “test site” I am redirected to the local directory index inside the site folder. I tried going to the parent directory and clicking that, but it simply opens the folder and displays the contents in another index. Clicking on any of those files downloads them to my pc. On further inspection, the database file and the config file were both empty when I opened them. Completely blank files.

I don’t know if this has anything to do with the update, but I have never had any problems with using this plugin until today.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer. This plugin is brilliant and I hope to continue using it for a long time. Good luck!

    FOUND THE PROBLEM!!!
The plugin is working, but first i must delete plugins from the website i wanna transfer, so clean website with text, photos, articles, pages etc without plugins.

Hm. That seems to defeat the purpose of using a plugin for migration if it’s just going to create additional steps. I think I’ll stick with manually transferring files.

    Hey bggoldman,

If you manually take a look inside the archive.zip file aand look for database.sql and wp-config.php inside the zip do you see content in those files or are they 0k empty?

    Thxs
