Pages Categories URL Links – How Does it Work

    Hi there, I am very new to wordpress and have absolutely no idea about coding. I am also still in the early stages of designing my site.

    I am using a slideshow as my header and within it I want to put url links to other pages in my site, that’s OK and it works for pages I have created, if someone clicks on the image, it takes them to the relevant page.

    The problem is that one of the slides in the slideshow is for a collection of jewelery products. I am not sure and cannot see how I can get the slide to link to multiple items from the e-commerce shop area.

    My original idea was to have a page for Earrings, a page for Chains, a page for collections etc. But on reading the info about e-commerce plugin you do not set up you items on a page but an inventory and then use category’s.

    I am properly confused, can you link a slide from a slideshow to multiple products in your e-commerce plugin, so that when clicking on slide it brings up all those related products? If so how can this be done.

    Please note at the moment I am only using the wordpress test environment on my home computer – not a live site.

    You can use categories and tags to do this.
    If for example you add a “featured-earings” tag to those products, then you can use that tag page as a link for your slide. ??
