• I followed the steps for changing your domain name and URLs but when I navigated to the homepage it was telling me there was an error connecting to the new database.

I went into my config file and changed the hostname from localhost to the IP address of the new database and now my homepage IS coming up (although a few of the pictures aren’t). But none of the other pages will. All of my internal links are 404’ing.

I did what the codex said and changed my URL settings BEFORE exporting the site files and database. All of the URL links look correct but they’re not accessing my database content.

    Any help?

I just did a find-and-replace in the new database of anything referring to the old URLs and updated them to the new URLs. My homepage now loads all of the pictures that it wasn’t loading earlier. But still 404ing whenever I try to go to any of my pages.

Another symptom was that I wasn’t able to successfully create any new pages. I could preview it and it would look good but after publishing it, it wouldn’t pull up like the rest of the pages.

I found that if I changed my settings > permalinks to “Custom Structure” and included the /index.php/ at the start that I can now successfully create pages. But, I still can’t access my old ones.
