• Hi,

When I activate the iThemes security plugin, my webshop (https://www.patipada.nl) does not work properly.
When I surf the website (backend and frontend) many times (like 1:5 ratio) the page does not load.
I need to refresh the page and then it does load.

When I deactivate the plugin it works fine again.

Do you have any idea what goes wrong?
By the way, it is a Woocommerce webshop. Maybe there are conflicts?

I hope you know what the problem might be.

    Thanks!
    Gerjan

  • Hi,

I have the same problem. I have a simple website. Since I have the plug-in iThemes security I can’t publish my new pages.

Does anyone know how this problem can be solved?

    Thanks

    Hi,

Could you first make sure you’re using the most up to date version of v4.4.20?

If you are and are still experiencing this could you try disabling the Long URLs and Suspicious Query strings features?

    Thanks,

    Hi Gerroald,

Thanks for the reply. I did not have the last update, but after the update and disabling long urls and suspicious query strings I having the same problem unfortunaly ?? Both on and off I have tried.

It seems indeed to happen with long urls and/or queary strings..

Do you have an other suggestion?

    Hi all,

I did the latest update this morning and still have the same problem.

Can you explain what I should do with “disabling long urls and suspicious query strings features”?

    Kind regards

I’m having the same issue. Should we maybe list our installed plugins to see if there’s maybe one that the three of us (Patipada, Convenimus) use? Maybe that’s how we can find the problem…

I have the problem since installing the plug-ins (last Monday):
    iThemes security v 4.4.20
    akismet v 3.0.2
    jetpack by wordpress v 3.1.1

I have solved my problem. In appearance/menus (weergave/menu) the new page must also be placed in the used menu. Then use the button save menu (menu opslaan) and the new page is published.

Sounds great, but … where is this “appearance/menus (weergave/menu)”? ??

    Great it works convenimus!
For me, the problem is different than yours.
I a have no problem publishing pages. My pages do not load al the time. As well front- as back- end pages. When I hit the refresh button it does work again. Actually your problem should be an other topic.

@kanika, do you have the same problem as me or the same problem as Convenimus?

Do you have an idea what else the problem can be?

    @patipada:
I have your problem. And I still don’t get Conveniums’ solution. ??
    But it sounds promising! ??
    Thanks.

For me, pages just don’t load, just shows a blank screen. Refreshing works. Haven’t tried the suspicious url thing yet. It seems like it’s gotten worse lately but I’ve actually minimized my use of plugins at the same time and that feels counter intuitive if anything.

Yes that’s the same problem here JKBrenman. Unfortunally no further suggestions from the iThemes Support Member.
Maybe we should email the plugins we have? So we might find out if there is a conflicting one?
I am not sure about posting the plugins online for security reasons. You can mail me at info at patipada.nl.

    Tnx!

I checked the long url , no difference at all. I suspected Widgets in pages, don’t use it anymore. I don’t use akismit or jetpack. I have no webshop installed; I use default 2014 theme atm.
I get no php errors in debug mode. It happens without being logged in. If it was just me, I guess I could live with it but if I miss out on visitors because my site appears broken, then I do have a major problem with it. I’m also having problems with its database backup not functioning and that may push me away finally. I’d like to get it fixed.
However; Are there any other security plugins that would do the same thing, anyone know of anything good? I hear wordfence is heavy on resources and that is not a good option for me.

I made all the configurations I need from iThemes and disbaled the plugin. I’ve read somewhere that some codes and settings stay active even though you disable the plugin.
Then I switched to Sucuri Security which works just fine for me.

Ok, thanks for the sharing. Will try Sucuri ??
