• Hi there

I just went to change a couple of my post “slugs” (apologies if that’s the wrong terminology”) to make them slighly better in terms of SEO.

It seems that any change I make to the URL for an existing post then seems to make that post take a lot longer to load in my browser. The header, and very strangely the title of my post load quickly, but the content of the post, and the left side-bar take ages to load. (Several seconds).

The fact that the post title is loading indicates that the actual post has been found, but something is slowing down the loading of the rest of the page.

    For example… I changed
    https:// mydomain.com/this-is-my-post
    to
    https:// mydomain.com/this-is-my-post-name

Now I’ve read up about not using %postname% as the permalink, but this problem does not go away if I change to say /%post_id%/%postname%/.

It seems that ANY change I make to the URL results in this “slowdown”

Is there something I can do about this? I am trying to improve the SEO of my site and I have several posts which need changing.

    Thanks for your help

    Brett

I upgraded to 3.0.1. The problem persists.

I also now have a new post which seemed to work fine until I made a revision to the text in the post (added a link). Now it is slow too.

This particular post loads slowly if I go directly to it. But if I go to the post via the category URL (mydomain.com/category/my-post) then it loads immediately. It is the only post in the category right now.

Seems like there is some sort of issue, but I can’t work out what it is.

I also tried using a different theme, but I get exactly the same results.

    Any assistance greatly appreciated!
