Pages won’t update; redirects me to Posts menu

  • I am trying to make a few minor updates to some of my pages – e.g. updating some links, and when I click on the “Update” button, it takes me to the “Posts” menu randomly. I am not even in “Posts”. I am making updates to “Pages”. I’ve tried doing this over and over again, and every time I click update (regardless of the specific page), it will redirect me to the “All Posts” menu. WHY?!? Can someone please help?

    Other theme’s functions or plugins’ might be causing this trouble. Try disabling the all plugins then activate one by one to find the source of the trouble. If none, try to switch to the default theme like Twenty Sixteen.

    Thanks Karis. I deactivated most of my plugins and kept trying. It eventually worked. Didn;t exactly diagnose the problem, but seems like it could have been with one of my plugins Hopefully this is not an issue in the future.

    I am having the same problem. I just restored my wordpress to a backup from April 15, 2017 and everything was working fine until a few minutes ago. WordPress updated to 4.7.4 and I cannot update a page. When I update a page, it takes me to the posts menu. I have tried everything including deleting the cache, removing plugins, deleting my browser cache, restarting the computer and nothing works. I have tried adding a new page and its the same issue. Also, when I click on the Media library, it shows the white screen while searching for media in my library. Please help! Thanks!

    I also cannot update any plugins!!! Nothing is working. I click update and it refreshes and says, select plugins to update.

    I try to reinstall 4.7.4 and it says “are you sure you want to do this?”

    I tried to install my cloudflare API and it says another plugin is altering requests from Cloudflare.
