Our plugin settings are managed via JavaScript and this means that we can’t defer the loading as we need to read the plugin settings before we enable other scripts etc. This should cause minimal CLS but we can’t improve it.

That is a great pity. We have a bad CLS rating and the problem here is only the cookie banner.

But since Google takes the CLS into the Core Web Vitals and it will be a ranking factor soon, we have to look for an alternative here. Pretty much all websites that function within the EU will have the problem.

Hi jidwictut9, I am having the same issue, if I disable this plugin I pass google core web vitals. When it is on it increases the CLS so the site doesn’t pass Google core web vitals which as you can imagine is important with the new google search update coming in May. Can I ask which plugin you switched to?

Please update to the latest version of our plugin, we’ve made some updates regarding the CLS so this issue should now be resolved.
