I’ve just launched this site and so have set the flags to allow indexing. Nonetheless GPSI says it’s being blocked. I’ve checked Settings | Readings and SE visibility is unchecked. in Plesk on my server Search indexing is allowed. GPSI also says that there’s no Meta Description. I, at this point, had no SEO plugin so installed AIOSEO and set things up – no changes. linking to themusicrealm.com/robots.txt show (Sitemap generator for for Google plugin enabled)

    User-agent: *
    Disallow: /wp-admin/
    Allow: /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php
    Sitemap: https://themusicrealm.com/sitemap.xml
    Sitemap: https://themusicrealm.com/sitemap.html

These would appear to be virtual files of course.

A search of the MySQL database reveals over 90 references to robotos.txt but most of these appear to be in plugins.

I’ve removed AIOSEO since activating it also has filled my Plugins page with requests to install yet more plugins. and it installed a link checker I didn’t request or authorise.

How can I force WP to start allowing indexing?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Nonetheless GPSI says it’s being blocked.

I don’t know where you’re running your test from, but the public PSI page clearly shows redirection to a page requesting a password.

And I opened your site address directly in my browser and I got that same password request.

I’ve no clueue what’s presenting this password request, but you need to remove it if you want the people and robots (including search engines, not just PSI) to access your site.

I’ve been through and deactivated a number of plugins one of which appears to be the root cause. I’ll investigate further.
