    Hi all,

I like to start by saying Job Manager is a really helpful plugin.

Im using wordpress 3.5.1 for a basic website. It also had Job Manager 0.7.0 installed and worked just fine. three weeks ago a lot of applications have been coming in and the whole site slows down. my hosting company said that the ratting system was causing a lot of extra code on the back end that when trying to delete an application looks like an attack on the sever. we cant seem to delete application a time out error will display. it was suggested that I update the plugin. so i updated it thinking that there would be a pagination fix for the applications page.Having less application on one page make it easier for the site to do its job and not time out.

On this link I found it works perfectly how can I get a pagination fix and not have my site time out all the time? or get the rating system removed?

your help would be much appreciated.
    Thank you
    Brandon

    Brandon,

Please provide a link to your site.

You should also update WordPress to latest as of this post – 4.2.1
and before you update Job Manager to current – as of this post 7.22
be sure to FOLLOW the guidelines we put together for upgrading.

Many of the problems you describe may be related to running outdated plugins and WordPress core. BTW their have been several severe security updates since WP 3.5.1 and for that reason alone you should update.

Also, we fixed a lot of things like pagination on our updates since 7.20.

As always, back-up your DB before any updates.

    Thomas,

    Thank you for the response.

just an update, I have updated all my plugins and wordpress itself but still no luck.

I am now looking for a way to paginate the applications list so that its not slow. NB the the site becomes slow and times out when you try deleting an application.

here what I’m looking at now.

also is there no way to just disable the rating system??

    Thanks soo much

It appears that you also may have a permalink issue, your pages/posts should have post-page name and not page numbers showing. Try refreshing your permalink.

We are working on pagination for apps pages but its a few weeks off. If you r experiencing slowness then you should look at cleaning up your DB and archiving older data (apps and resumes). If you don’t want to use the rating system don’t use it, you don’t need to disable it !

how do I refresh a permalink?

ok thank you I wait in anticipation for the new release of Job Manager with the pagination. I deleted all applications from the database and there seems to be no lag now.

    That’s a BASIC WordPress function.

    Settings – Permalinks,

    Select: Custom Structure (/%postname%/)

    Save Changes.
