    Hey,
In your portfolio edit page under Portfolio Page Options set Items Per Page to All.
    Hope that works for you!

This isn’t a created page, it’s a link to a portfolio Type category created in a menu, so there’s no page to edit.

And if I create a page using the ‘Portfolio Grid’ template (blank apart from the title and making it a child page of the Portfolio parent page) and select the relevant ‘Portfolio Work Types’ with ‘Items per Page’ set to ‘All’ I get a ‘Page not found’ error:

OK, I see now. The premium theme has an option to set the number of portfolio items for archive pages, however the free theme doesn’t have this option.
Your method above should work fine for what you want. Try re-saving your permalinks. Go to settings > permalinks and save. Does that fix?

I re-saved the permalinks and still get the same error.

Are you saying that if I upgrade to the premium version then I’ll be able to control the pagination on my current page created from a menu link to the portfolio type.

    What are your permalink settings?
Yes, there is an option within the premium theme to choose how many portfolio items show on portfolio archive pages.

‘Month and name’ in the Common Settings:

No changes to Category base or Tag base.

Try setting it to Post Name. Does that fix?

    Hey,
    Couple things going on here.

First the amount of portfolio posts is inherited from the post per page setting in your settings > reading. That defaults to 10 but you can increase.

Second the reason a child page of your “portfolio” page would not work is because of a url conflict.

“portfolio” is the slug of the portfolio posts. So any url past yourdomain.com/portfolio/ should releate to a portfolio post. When a page tries to have that same slug you get a conflict.

A workaround option would be to change your portfolio grid page to use a differnet url slug. For example “my-portfolio” or “projects” then you could have child pages of that slug without interfering with the portfolio posts.

    does that make sense?

Got it working – I had changed the slug for the main portfolio page to ‘Projects’ before, but it hadn’t worked (probably a caching issue I think now) but I’ve done the same again and now its all working perfectly. And these Project sub-pages don’t have the 10 item default limit before pagination starts, so my client is very happy.

Thank you so much for your help (and patience).
