Pagination not working

    I have created a custom home page and on the home page I have added recent post widgets.

    Now I no longer have pagination showing previous pages of content.

    Any way to addd pagination to my home page?

    thanks for using MH Newsdesk lite.

    If you mean with “custom home page” a static front page in combination with the widgetized “Homepage” template like instructed in the theme documentation, then it’s normal that there is no pagination because pagination is provided on archives and not for widgets on static pages.

    Hi I have the same issue,

    I realize it’s not supported, but I would *really* like to have pagination AND use a static front page with widgets. The widgets setup allows me to customize the theme, and I love that. But, losing the pagination kinda sucks.

    I’ve been attempting to modify my index.php file to show pagination but with no luck. Maybe you could help me get it working?

    it’s essential to understand that the file index.php handles archives. Your front page is not an archive, but a static page with widgets and there is no such pagination for pages in WordPress.

    Instead of using a static front page, you could enable “Your latest posts” in your WordPress dashboard under Settings => Reading and then you’ll have the pagination you’re looking for.

    For the static front page there is no such thing. However, if you are familiar with coding, you could of course code a pagination for each widget, but that is a different story. In case you want to hire a developer for customizations, you could have a look at WordPress Jobs or Codeable.
