Pagination parent category not working

    Hello,

    We are currently working on a new WooCommerce shop with a lot of products and category’s. All category’s have pagination and the pagination of the sub-category’s are working as they should. Only the parent-category’s pagination is not working.

    This is causing a 404 error.

    So pagination like this is working:
    https://www.site.com/shop/parent-category/sub-category/page/2/

    But like this we get a 404 error:
    https://www.site.com/shop/parent-category/page/2/

    We are using custom permalinks for the products, like this:
    /shop/%product_cat%/

    If we change the product permalinks to default the pagination is working.

    We never had this issue before and would really like to know what is causing this and how we can fix it.

    Any help would be welcome.

  • Hi there,

    This might be a cause of a plugin conflict – if you disable all but WooCommerce, and test permalinks does it continue to happen?

    If it does not, then re-activate your plugins a few at a time until the issue resurfaces, and that is the core culprit.
