Paid WordPress Installs

  • I’ve been thinking of offering a service whereby you get either (the latest stable release) WordPress installed on your current host, or a years worth of hosting and a WordPress install for a reasonable fee.
    Other options would be templates, domain names, bigger accounts, etc.
    Would this be something anyone would be interested in? I’m trying to gauge the market.

    Thanks. I’m thinking probably about the completely newbie market, the sort that don’t know what a host does, let alone how to install something via even an automated install.
    We’re not talking huge amounts, certainly not for a basic account, probably something like ?￡25 for a years hosting (50mb/1Gb pm) and install of the latest stable WP release (it usually takes a while for most hosts to upgrade).

    Ironically you’d be competing with at least 4 others that are doing/about to do this. Hosting specifically for WP users. Some are even building TypePad competing services using WP.
    If you do it, do it quick coz the space is getting crowded very quickly. A lot of people have the same idea.
