To Google thin content doesn’t mean short content.

    Take a read of https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/2604719?hl=en

    Main issues:

    Automatically generated content
    Thin affiliate pages
Content from other sources. For example: Scraped content or low-quality guest blog posts
    Doorway pages

    Comments aren’t any of these.

So no risk of a penalty for thin content.

There is the argument of linking to really short comments could be considered a waste of a link (highly unlikely to rank for any SERPs), it’s why in the Stallion Responsive version (premium version) you can set a minimum number of characters before a links appears.
