(panic mode) Some of my WP menus have disappeared

    Well actually they are probably Theme choices but non-the-less the choices have disappeared.

    I hope this is the right place to post this, if not I will move it or the admin can if that’s easier

    Details:

    I’ve been working on a site for a few weeks now. Finally getting the look and feel mostly how I want it for now. I did the style changes using “simple CSS”. So at this point I decided to try and move everything to a child theme and copy the Simple CSS code into the child style.css. While trying to test that I removed one of the blocks of styles “header parameters”. I then did a reload on my live browser tab. (I keep two tabs while I’m developing so I can quickly switch between modes)

    So, after making that one style change my reload lost all its color!!!! I went to find out what happened. I dropped down my “Apperance” menutabe to find that the Menu was missing the Header, Background and Color. I have a close to duplicate site that I haven’t changed anything there in weeks but all the colors are correct there. I emptied the child theme style sheet and went back to the original Simple Css I had. I then copied the CSS changed and pasted them on the troubled site. In case the question comes up, I’ve been building this site with the child theme in place and “style” and “functions” are just as they were before the problem. No styles in there.

    Anyone have any ideas? Maybe reload the theme??? Maybe copy the theme from the working site and paste it in to the troubled site? I can back up the site first I guess.

    I don’t want to dive in without some thoughts and hopefully some input from the members here.

    So, some details”

    The troubled site is vancolenlaw.com

    The site that has the right coloring (and all the menu choices are there) is kvclaw.com

    The theme used is “Redesign” by By Robert Toth https://www.ads-software.com/themes/redesign/

    What have I forgotten? Nope, no new plugins. In the troubleshooting process I disabled any plugins I don’t need.

    Any help anyone can provide will be appreciated.

    Argg: Just did a reload and now the troubled site has filled page with solid color with a boarder and and the “background” and “Header” menu choices are back but NO COLOR menu

    I’m going to go to bed and get up when there is a new CMS

    Okay, never mind. Somehow my child theme disappeared can changed to twenty-sixteen. That would explain the much of the “strange stuff” I’ll jump back a few steps and see if I can figure out how to untangle it
