Paragraph block padding in twenty twenty-one theme

I’m a newbie to WordPress, using the twenty twenty-one theme. The blog is relatively simple, a personal blog.
The paragraph blocks in Gutenberg have a huge space between them, and despite finding solutions for other themes, I’ve not located one to reduce the space to perhaps 4 px of white space between the blocks. Are there any solutions available?
In addition to other things, I’ve done a lot of typesetting/prepress work through years and am surprised to find that control for this sort of thing isn’t built into the theme. Any help will be welcomed!
