Paragraph blocks cannot be previewed

    After latest update, whenever I am editing a post and click on a Paragraph block, I get an error that says the block cannot be previewed.

    I loaded plugins 1 at a time and found that it only happened when this plugin is loaded.

    Paragraph block appears fine in edit screen, however once you click it to edit the text, that is when you get the “cannot be previewed” error.

    I’m running WordPress 5.1.

    Hoping this is a simple fix. Thank you in advance.

  • Hi,

    We see this error, it’s a JS error with the plugin, NOT the version of gutenberg shipped with WordPress.

    Could you try disabling the Gutenberg plugin and use instead the version shipped with the latest WordPress? We’ll provide a new version with a fix by tomorrow.

    Thanks for the quick response. I am not using the Gutenberg plugin, and get the error even when only the “Advanced Gutenberg” plugin is activated.

    Hoping the new version fixes the issue.

    In order to diagnose the problem further, I deactivated all my plugins and reactivated them.

    This didn’t work in Troubleshooting mode (Using Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin), but when I did this with the actual plugins, it seems to have fixed the issue.

    Does seem like changing the editor width from large to original and back to large, and saving the Advanced Gutenberg configuration fixed it. Not sure if the back and forth change made a difference or just a save…

    About the paragraph problem, could you update to the latest Advanced Gutenberg 1.10.6 and let me know?
