Yep – it’s a bad CSS reset again! Try editing style.css and replace:

.postbody p {
color:#333333;
font-size:0.75em;
line-height:1.4em;
}

with:

.postbody p {
color:#333333;
font-size:0.75em;
line-height:1.4em;
margin-top:0.5em;
margin-bottom:0.5em;
}

It wasn’t a stupid question. The theme’s CSS was, in my purely personal opinion, not very well put together.
